AWKA, Nigeria — The Owerri Zone Coordinator of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Prof. Dennis Aribodor, has strongly condemned the arrest and detention of two union officials at Imo State University (IMSU). Aribodor, who is also of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, stated that the union cannot be intimidated while performing its functions.

The union official expressed his condemnation following the detention of the IMSU ASUU Chairman, Dr. I.O. Okpara, and the Secretary, Dr. C.C. Okpara. The circumstances surrounding their arrest and the reasons for their detention were not immediately clear.
