MADRID, Spain — Atletico Madrid have completed the signing of South Korea international Kang-In Lee from Paris Saint-Germain.

The Spanish club announced the agreement on Saturday. Lee has signed a contract that runs until 30 June 2031.

“Atletico de Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain have reached an agreement for the transfer of Kang-In Lee, who has signed for our club until June 30, 2031,” Atletico said in a statement.

The club described the 25-year-old as a talented left-footed midfielder who can play in an attacking midfield role or from either wing. It highlighted his vision, ball control, and ability to pass and shoot.

The clubs did not disclose the transfer fee. A source close to the negotiations told AFP that the fee was around 40 million euros ($45.5 million), excluding bonuses.

PSG thanked Lee, who joined the French club from Valencia in 2023.

Lee scored 16 goals in 124 appearances for PSG and collected 12 trophies. He had limited playing time under coach Luis Enrique and suffered a thigh injury in January. He was an unused substitute in PSG’s last two Champions League final victories.

He is Atletico’s third summer signing after Danish midfielder Morten Hjulmand and Spanish full-back Alejandro Grimaldo. Antoine Griezmann has left the club for Orlando City in Major League Soccer.

Lee made the last of his 50 international appearances for South Korea during the World Cup, where the team exited in the group stage.
