UMUAHIA, Nigeria — The South-East chapter of the Kwankwaso National Network (KNN) has urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to engage Catholic bishops in constructive dialogue instead of responding to their criticism of his administration with verbal attacks.

The group stated that the bishops' pronouncements accurately reflect the suffering of many Nigerians.

In a statement issued in Umuahia, the KNN's South-East Zonal Coordinator, Chief Okoroafor Ogbuji, advised the President to heed the bishops' counsel, asserting that their concerns mirror the widespread anguish felt by millions across the nation.

Ogbuji emphasized that the Catholic Church, through its bishops, has consistently voiced the pains and aspirations of the populace, making their observations a significant barometer of public sentiment.

He added that the bishops' recent critique of the government's performance was not an isolated incident but a continuation of their role as moral compasses for society.

The KNN also declared its support for the potential presidential ticket of Rabiu Kwankwaso and Peter Obi in the 2027 general elections, suggesting it as a viable alternative for Nigerians seeking change.

The group believes that a joint ticket of Kwankwaso and Obi would offer a strong platform to address the nation's challenges effectively.
