ABUJA, Nigeria — President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved 26 new appointments across ten federal government agencies and commissions.

Among the prominent political figures listed in the official announcement is the former governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, who has been appointed to serve as the Chairman of the Governing Board of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA).

Fayose will lead the REA board alongside non-executive directors Alhaji Ahmadu Abubakar and Engineer Ilyasu Ibrahim Makinta, while current Director-General Abba Abubakar Aliyu continues in his operational role.

The President also announced major leadership reshuffles across other key federal institutions:

  • National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission: Major General Junaid Bindawa appointed as Chairman, with former House of Reps member Olajumoke Okoya-Thomas serving as Secretary.
  • National Population Commission: Dr. Abuh Mohammed appointed as Director-General.
  • Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading (NBET): Dr. Akinola Odeyemi appointed as Managing Director.
  • Nigeria Atomic Energy Commission: Dr. Anthony Inalegwu Godwin named Chairman/CEO.

According to the State House, the new board compositions and leadership swaps are designed to strengthen institutional efficiency and speed up infrastructure projects across energy, public compensation, and rural development.
